C’est surtout au cours du XIXe si\u00e8cle que la cueillette de la lavande s’est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e dans le midi de la France. Les grands parfums anglais English Lavender, Yardley, la famille des Foug\u00e8res, attestent de cet engouement. Dans les ann\u00e9es 1960, la concurrence des lavandes d’importation, le d\u00e9p\u00e9rissement des plants de lavande, le d\u00e9veloppement de la parfumerie fonctionnelle, pour ne pas dire industrielle, amorcent le d\u00e9clin de cette huile essentielle aupr\u00e8s des consommateurs et donc des parfumeurs.<\/p>\n

Il faudra toute la pugnacit\u00e9 de la fili\u00e8re agricole et professionnelle \u00e0 partir des ann\u00e9es 2000 pour relancer cette mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re incontournable, qui retrouve aujourd’hui sa place dans la palette du parfumeur.<\/p>\n
